Fleming Gardens in Rotherham, has been providing housing, parenting, relationship and life skills training for young women and their children since 2004. The Fleming Gardens service is commissioned by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and delivered by YWCA Yorkshire. It includes 20 houses, ten within a cul-de-sac location in Bramley, and ten dispersed throughout the local area. As well as accommodation and wrap-around support to these households, the expert team of Project Workers deliver support and training to a further 27 young women and families across the Rotherham area. Our work with young families typically includes budgeting, emotional well-being, parenting skills, the elimination of anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes, and access to education and training for both parents and children. YWCA Yorkshire has developed a number of specialist programmes to assist young women, children and families to address some of the key barriers to living happy, fulfilled and independent lives. We believe in giving back to the local community, and accept external referrals onto some of our programmes.
